Sahapedia

Sayali Athale is collaborating with Sahapedia for the My City My Heritage initiative as a city curator for Pondicherry. This includes developing the curation thematically, commissioning essays from local researchers and experts and researching and writing on aspects of the city’s heritage.

Endangered Material Knowledge Program

Sayali Athale & Anto Gloren are recipients of the research grant for their project ' Documenting the Craft of Creating Floating Dwellings in the Socio-Ecological Landscape of the Kashmir Valley' for the year 2024-25.

TUSCA7

As an alumni body of TU Berlin, T7 is an effectual link between academia and practice. Registered as a non-profit in Copenhagen, they provide administrative and moral support for research projects carried out by members. T7 delve in ecology, infrastructure, spatial empathy, terrestrials of all kinds, and visual and acoustic expressions by grafting aesthetic registers of art to science and back.

Pune University (SPPU)

The Public space seating design and build elective was held for the Master of Design students at the Pune University for the semester Sept 2021 to April 2022. The elective on outdoor public seating using packing box wood considers the modularity, dynamism, and variability of use in public space.

Making the prototype by hand introduced the students to the materiality of wood in its limitations and advantages.

MMCOA

The Non-Plumb Masonry Workshop was held at MMCA for architecture students of the [Apr.2022–Aug.2022] to teach them an old but forgotten technique of building with arches, vaults, and domes as an alternative to concrete. Most importantly, apart from promoting sustainable construction, the workshop allowed students to work side by side with skilled masons, helping them develop a deeper respect for the craftsmanship and hard work involved. This created a meaningful, hands-on learning experience that they will carry with them into their professional field.
