The spaces in the entirely brick building have an old world feel to them, and it was necessary that the interiors reflected the same. The curved, bulbous forms of the furniture are an echo of the brick arches and shells that create these spaces. A combination of solid wood and veneer with brass highlights lends warmth and a hint of opulence to the otherwise earthy palette of materials.
The staircase chandelier is like a flock of birds rising from the ground. Metal sheets were cut to various sizes and bent to make wing-like light fixtures. The idea was to use the scrap metal derived from Engineering workshops to develop a product made by simple bending and slotting.
